104 St. Thomas School students participated in the
Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest sponsored by the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Council #13861.
Past Grand Knight John Chandonnet met with St. Thomas School Principal Donna Jacques to finalize the contest details. The council also furnished the poster paper for the contest. There were three divisions: Grades K thru 1, Grades 2 thru 3 and grades 4 thru 7. Arranging the divisions in this manner assured that there would be a proportionate number of participating students in each division. The students were given until Friday, December 13th to turn in their posters. Past Grand Knight John Chandonnet, Grand Knight Terry Sylvanus and Deputy Grand Knight Rick Southwick judged the posters on Monday, December 16, 2019 to determine the winner and runner-up in each division.
The winners of each division received a $50 Walmart gift card; and the runners-up received a $25 Walmart gift card. Father Bill Labbe announced the winners and presented the gift cards at a pre-Christmas mass for St. Thomas School at Holy Family Church before the students headed off for their Christmas break. Each participant received a certificate. It is noteworthy to mention that the St. Thomas Council purchased the Walmart gift cards from St. Thomas School to further help the school.
Winners and Runners-Up in each division were as follows:

Principal Donna Jacques and the faculty were extremely enthusiastic about the
Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest and offered much support and encouragement to the students. This was evident by the overwhelming participation in the poster contest by the students at St. Thomas School. It was rewarding to witness the creative talents of each student and how each of them expressed what Christmas meant to themselves and the significance of the birth of Jesus Christ in this joyous season!
