St. Thomas Council Names Payeur Family as September 2021 Family of the Month

September 26, 2021The St. Thomas Council, Knights of Columbus, have chosen the family of Jason and Sarah Payeur to be recognized as family of the month for September 2021.
Having been married in this Holy Family Church in September of 2006, Jason and Sarah recently celebrated their achievement of 15 years of marriage and have been active parishioners here during that time. Jason is a 3rd Degree member in good standing of the Springvale Council, Knights of Columbus and the BPOE Lodge #1470 Sanford Elks.
Jason and Sarah are most proud to be raising four wonderful children: Natalie, Miranda, Wesley and Easton. All four are currently enrolled and thriving here at St. Thomas School.
Natalie is part of this year’s 8th grade class, making the most of what will be the culmination of her eight successful years at the school. After school, Natalie enjoys being part of the Sanford Middle School volleyball and field hockey teams.
Miranda in the 5th grade, is enjoying the recently re-structured middle school program “Outside of school,” Miranda enjoys playing Field Hockey and Softball. You may also spot her serving Mass on this Altar.
Wesley in 3rd grade, is excited to be joining the ranks of “big kids” on the 2nd floor this year. Wesley enjoys letting his energy out on the soccer field and playing baseball.
Last but certainly not least, having already established strong presence within the school during the last 2 years, Easton is in the Kindergarten class. Outside of school, Easton loves to play all sports and of course also any opportunity to work with his Dad.
Jason, Sarah and family are very active within the St Thomas School community and can often be found in and around the school regularly. Together they have invested many hours cleaning up and improving the school grounds for all to enjoy.
Sarah answered a call to work in the school and has come to be highly esteemed by both students and staff in her many roles including with the cafeteria food service and as a PTO board member. Sarah also has been instrumental to the success of various fundraising programs for the school, such as the annual Mingle, Jingle, 5K Run and Vendor Fair coming up in November, the Shop with Scrip Fundraising Program, and numerous other school functions.
Jason, an alumnus of St Thomas School (1994), has a rich history with the school and has for many years supported the continuation of its mission. “Paying it forward” in various ways Including support for fundraising and student activities and also more intensive efforts like coordinating grounds maintenance and facilities upgrades. Jason is a strong advocate for our Parish School within our local community and now, having joined the St Thomas School Advisory Board in 2017, is currently serving as Chairman. He was nominated to serve in this role in late 2019 just prior to the unplanned succession of our school’s Principal and pledged unwavering commitment to ensure the continuing success of St Thomas School through this delicate transition.
The Knights of Columbus proudly presents the Family of the Month for September 2021, the Payeur Family, a family united in living their faith together. We are blessed to have them in our parish!
