David is extremely active in the church, community and in his home. He recently logged in over 400 SURGE hours working in Haiti, Faith Formation, ACTS and faith sharing sessions in his home.
David Murphy serves on the Haiti Committee whose aim is to help our sister parish St. Anthony the Hermit in Haiti. David has made countless trips to Haiti at his own expense. Being an engineer by profession, he coordinated the reconstruction of their church which was damaged by Hurricane Matthew in 2017.
Within our parish, David is involved on both the Faith Formation and ACTS teams and has attended many ACTS retreats.
David, along with his wife Lynda, lead Lectio Divina sessions every Wednesday evening in his Home. A Lectio Divina is a traditional monastic practice of scriptural reading, meditation and prayer intended to promote communion with God and to increase the knowledge of God's word. There will typically be six to eight participants every Wednesday.
Congratulations to our June Knight of the Month, David Murphy, for the tremendous amount of work he performs for the parish and community.
