The Knights of Columbus St. Thomas Council held a blood drive at the St. Ignatius gym, in Sanford, ME.
Leading up to the blood drive, a notice was put in the church bulletin for weeks, and Red Cross posters were posted all over town, the Council and the Red Cross were prepared for a good blood drive. However, Mother Nature had her own plans. On the day of the blood drive, Sanford received 3 inches of rain, which kept many people from coming out.
Only 10 pints of blood were collected from the effort. Five of those pints came from brother knights from the council. The Red Cross people commented that, considering the weather, it wasn't bad.
The St. Thomas Council plans to have another blood drive scheduled for the fall. Hopefully the weather will be good on that day.
