St. Thomas Council Knights of Columbus put on a benefit barbeque for Rick Bragg, a fellow brother Knight of the Springvale Council.
Approximately 120 persons attended, including several members of a motorcycle riding group with which Rick Bragg rode. Our guest of honor Rick Bragg and his wife Ellen arrived later. The menu included barbequed chicken, corn on the cob, cole slaw, pasta salad, hamburgers, cheese burgers, hot dogs, soda and water. Five St. Thomas Knights, along with their barbeque grills, did the cooking. The wives and other volunteers collected the money and served the food. Over $1,100 was raised for Rick.
Rick Bragg had been injured last November while driving his tractor. The mishap left Rick paralyzed below the waist. After undergoing several months of hospitalization and physical therapy, Rick returned home in April.
