Habitat for Humanity is in Sanford!
Habitat for Humanity York County is your local Habitat, serving all residents in York County. Since 1985 Habitat has served the local community and brought Habitat’s mission, seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity seeks to build homes, communities, and hope, to residents in York County.
Habitat builds safe, affordable, and efficient homes through its home ownership program. The organization has helped over 35 households in the area achieve homeownership. Habitat’s Aging in Place/Weatherization program has helped over 200 residents in the community live comfortably in their homes by providing needed home renovations such as ramps, window trim work, railings, and other accessibility upgrades-at no cost to the homeowner. In 2013, Habitat for Humanity York County opened the ReStore, selling gently used goods at a significant discount, while keeping items out of the landfill. All ReStore proceeds support Habitat’s mission.
Habitat is committed to supporting the community of Sanford. Now underway, Habitat is building the first of at least five homes in Sanford over the next several years. These homes are a community effort, and we need your help! These homes are made possible by generous donations and volunteers who work to make these homes a reality. If you are interested in volunteering or donating to support families in your community, please visit www.habitatyorkcounty.org or email James Connally at [email protected]. Thank you.
