29 brother Knights throughout the state of Maine became Sir Knights in an exemplification ceremony hosted by the W. Robert Batchelder 4th Degree Assembly on Armed Forces Day, Saturday 20 May 2023 at St. Thomas School in Sanford. The honoree was Rev. Wilfred Labbe.
There was a spaghetti dinner on Friday evening, May 19th for the dignitaries, exemplification team and wives. Following a Saturday noon box lunch, the exemplification ceremony began at 1:00 pm and concluded at 3:00 pm. Following group photo sessions, everyone proceeded to nearby Holy Family Church for a 4:00 pm service. Each of the 29 candidates were officially knighted and received their certificates. The knighting ceremony concluded with Rev. Wilfred Labbe being knighted as a sir knight. The day’s festivities concluded with a dinner at St. Thomas School.
Eight area knights were among the 29 who became sir knights. They included: Robert Guillemette, Thomas Osbourne, Gerard Nulton, Brian Theriault, Romeo Zuniga, Robert Demers, Thomas Miskell and Reverend Wilfred Labbe of W. Robert Batchelder Assembly 0357 in Sanford.

Dignitaries were State Deputy Jon Harvey, State Secretary Michael Giroux, State Warden Gilman Ouellette, State Warden-Elect Gary Boynton, VSM Rich McDermott (NH) and FVSM Michael Donnelly (CT).
