The St. Thomas Council Knights of Columbus received four awards, and recognition for other achievements, at the Annual Knights of Columbus Maine State Convention at Sunday River Resort in Newry, Maine.
St. Thomas Council received Maine State Council awards for the Right to Life Walk last Summer and for the Childrens’ Christmas Party this past December. In addition, the council received an award from Knights of Columbus Supreme Council for the Church Rebuilding project at St. Anthony the Hermit Parish in Haiti. Finally, the St. Thomas Council was named Maine State Division-A Council of the Year out of 29 Division-A councils!
In addition, the St. Thomas Council received recognition for sponsoring Blood Drives, sponsoring Tootsie Roll Drives and carrying out at least four worthy service activities in each catagory of Church, Community, Council, Family Life, Pro-life and Youth in the Surge with Service Program. This past year has proved to be a banner year for the St. Thomas Council. Hopefully, this coming year will be no exception as the St. Thomas Council looks forward to serving the parish, school and community!
