The St. Thomas Council, Knights of Columbus, have chosen the Carpenter family for February family of the month. Shelly and Scott Carpenter are the proud parents of Justin 32, and Jonathan 30, and two grandchildren, Michael 11 and Kylie 6 who are students at St. Thomas School. Justin and Jonathan are proud graduates of St. Thomas School as well. Shelly and Scott will be celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary in July. Scott and Shelly love to travel, play board games and spend time with their family and friends. They especially look forward to the big tubing trip they take each summer down the Saco River with friends and family.
Scott is employed full time at Corning in Kennebunk, specializing in quality control. Shelly is our Lifelong Faith Formation Coordinator. Both Shelly and Scott are Eucharistic Ministers. They serve in the church and have brought the Eucharist to the homebound. Both Shelly and Scott have taught Faith Formation and have volunteered as hospitality greeters. Scott is a 4th degree Knight with the Springvale council. Shelly is the Regent with The Daughters of Isabella, Mater Circle #389.
Both Scott and Shelly are incredibly involved in the Faith Formation and Youth Ministry programs. They have also served on The Catholic Youth Leadership Team for the diocese of Portland. They are heavily involved in the RCIA programs for youth and adults; and the children receiving Baptism, Confirmation, and First Communion.
The Carpenters both received the National Companion of the Journey Award for excellence in Youth Ministry.
The Knights of Columbus proudly presents the Family of the Month for February, the Carpenter family, a family united in living their faith together. We are blessed to have them in our parish!
