The St. Thomas Council has named the family of Kevin and Dawn LaChapelle as Family of the Year 2020.
This LaChapelle family has been communicants of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish since 1995, attending Sunday mass at Holy Family Church.
Both Kevin and Dawn were involved in the Youth Ministry from 2000 thru 2003. Kevin and Dawn were also Eucharistic Ministers, serving Holy Communion at mass and to shut-ins. Kevin is also involved in Big Brothers and Sisters program. Kevin has been involved in Junior Achievement for second thru fourth graders at North Berwick Elementary School for the past ten years. Kevin has served as Assistant Scout Master and Chaplin for Boy Scout Troop 330 for the past seven years. Kevin previously served as Cub Scout Leader for four years and also coached soccer and lacrosse.
Dawn was Girl Scout Leader for four years. Dawn also performed volunteer work at St. Thomas School.
Kevin is a longtime employee at Hussey Seating in North Berwick, having worked there for 22 years. Dawn is a Daycare worker. Despite their busy schedules, Kevin and Dawn still find time to lend a helping hand to a neighbor, such as shoveling snow or running an errand.
Kevin and Dawn are proud parents of Benjamin, who is 17 and triplets Eric, Julia and Grace who are 14. All four of their children attended St. Thomas School and all are altar servers.
