St. Thomas Council is proud to award Knight of the Month for February 2021 to John Greenlee, who has been a Knight for fifteen years.
John had served as the council's Worthy Financial Secretary for many of those years. For those who may not realize, the position of Financial Secretary is considered the most demanding position in the council; but is one that works "behind the scenes" for the most part. The position involves sending out notices regarding membership and dues, entering new members into the K of C database, preparing many required reports to keep the council in compliance, preparing membership cards every year and working in hand with the Worthy Treasurer preparing financial vouchers guaranteeing our financial checks and balances. John is a resource in keeping with council communications.
John is a Fourth Degree Knight and member of the Color Guard which participates in Color Guard activities at funerals of our fallen brothers. He is also the Assembly's Faithful Financial Secretary.
In his spare time, John works as a CPA and is an avid gardener/farmer. He plants a rather large garden and donates much of his harvest to local food pantries. This past year, he donated over four hundred pounds of vegetables.
The St. Thomas Council congratulates John Greenlee, a shining example for the Knights of Columbus!
