St. Thomas Council Names Jeff Russel Knight of the Month for January 2022

January 13, 2022St. Thomas Council awarded Knight of the Month for January 2022 to Jeff Russell, who has been a knight in the St. Thomas Council for the past three years.
For the past three years Jeff and his wife have been coordinating all activity at the Saint Therese Food Closet. The food closet had 3,500 visits from single individuals and families last year. The food closet supplied from 15 pounds to 50 pounds of food for each visit. Some larger families received up to 70 pounds of food at a visit.
About two-thirds of this food came from a government program known as the Emergency Food Assistance Program. The other third came from donations of food. The food closet also received cash donations from our generous parishioners.
Seventy percent of the food closet’s volunteer staff is made up of Knights of Columbus and their spouses.
Congratulations to our December Knight of the Month, Jeff Russell, for his hard work and dedication to a vital program in our community, to the St. Thomas Council and to St. Therese of Lisieux Parish!
