It’s Summer, the Sanford Mainers are back in town and the St. Thomas Council is once again working the concession at Goodall Park.
Knights of the St. Thomas Council have been working the concession at Sanford Mainers home games for the past eight seasons. The council's first date was Friday, June 9th. This happened to be St. Thomas School night. The concession area was a madhouse! There was a constant flow of customers from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. They purchased hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, pizza, pretzels, Nachos with hot cheese, candy, soda, slushies, moose pies, DQ bars, strawberry shortcake, and popcorn. Yes popcorn. We don't know how many bags we sold that night. We lost count. More like cubic yards! The popcorn maker was constantly running for three hours!
The St. Thomas Council is among the area nonprofit organizations that work the concession. The St. Thomas Council has worked the concession at five games so far. St. Thomas is scheduled for three more dates.
