St. Therese of Lisieux Parish held its Annual Harvest Fair at the Parish Hall on Riverside Avenue in Sanford from Friday evening October 27
th thru Sunday morning October 29
th. The Annual Harvest Fair, which is held every October, is the Parish’s biggest fund raiser. Over $26,000 was raised during that weekend!
The fair kicked off with a Turkey Supper and all the fixings by the St. Thomas and Springvale Knights of Columbus councils. The Knights of Columbus also served breakfast and lunch the next day on Saturday, October 28
th; and breakfast on Sunday, October 29
th. Knights from both councils also helped out during the fair with the 50-50 Raffle, the Grand Raffle and at the Trash and Treasure tables.
The three-day fair featured a Silent Auction for various items donated to the parish; homemade jams and jellies; baked goods; used books; used appliances; Christmas decorations; and a Trash and Treasure table consisting of gently used items.
In addition, there was a 50-50 Raffle where $725 was awarded. There was also a Grand Raffle where four $500 cash prizes were awarded. Big ticket items, donated to the parish, were also raffled off. One of these items was a kayak.
The Harvest Fair was very successful and enjoyed by all. Many thanks go out to all the volunteers, donors and patrons!
