St. Thomas Council Knights and St. Therese of Lisieux parishioners participated in the Annual Right to Life Walk in Sanford on Saturday, July 13
th. This walk was hosted by Frank and Jean Pease. Frank, a St. Thomas Council Knight, serves on the Maine Right to life Committee along with his wife Jean.
31 persons participated in the walk which consisted of a two-mile walk around Number-One Pond. The route followed Riverside Avenue, William Oscar Emery Drive, River Street, Winter Street, then back on Riverside Avenue. Prizes were raffled-off at the end of the walk.
$1,160 was raised for the Maine Right to Life Committee. The Maine Right to Life Committee (MRLC) is the state affiliate of National Right to Life Committee and is a statewide non-profit corporation. MRLC was founded to protect and uphold the dignity and worth of each human life from conception to natural death.
Maine Right to Life seeks to uphold the inviolable sanctity of human life from conception to natural death by making abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia socially, ethically, and legally unacceptable and to actively promote positive alternatives.
